I hope you enjoyed Thanksgivukkah, and you are off to a great start for the next set of holidays. My kids are busy making Christmas gifts including cards, potholders and those bracelets made from elastics. The Boy is on a kick where is making swords, shields and knives out of cardboard and duck tape. He has made dozens of "weapons" and is being paid allowance in duck tape. I'm not sure why he can't make duct tape flowers and wallets like other kids, but I applaud his creativity and he even took the time to learn about the origins of duck tape. Then we learned the neighbors hit a deer and had to secure the car bumper with duck tape to get home, and he has decided to never leave home without a roll. Or 3.

Our tree hunting experience and some helpful tips!
This past weekend, our family took a trip to cut down our Christmas tree. The past few years we have visited a nursery/tree farm and purchased a pre-cut tree but in the spirit of my “homemade/unplugged” Christmas I thought we would go back to the tradition of cutting it down. I must say I was not disappointed. Though the weather wasn’t the best we had a fun time! We sang Christmas carols as we ventured out into the forest and the kids even played hide and seek ...
